Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Mom and I had a crazy Christmas Day. Mom had to work but we got to open presents. I helped Ashley with Charlie's idog. I got some goodies from my breeders Eunice and Mark, they were GOOOOD. And I also got some toys that I get to play with at the office. When mom gets the pictures she will put them up.

Well I got to go take my nap and then off to take care of sheep, cats and a horse. Then we are going to Grandma and Grandpa's for more presents.

Hope everyone has a good New Year.

Boston and SNOW

I did great a the Boston Dog Show. On Saturday we got Best in Breed Puppy and our judge was James Reynolds, yes he judged at the Westminster Dog Show. On Sunday we got Best in Breed Puppy, Winners ( No points because no competition), and then 3rd in Non Sporting Group Puppy out of 7 puppies. Mom and grandma are very proud of me. I had a good time. Grandma bought me a new collar for Christmas and mom did Christmas shopping.

As you can tell I love the snow. I love to run around and chase the snow I kick up. I can't wait to go to Grandma and Grandpa's to play in the yard and with Uncle Brodie.

Well mom has to go and take care of a horse and then go and get her camera and we have to get our picture done for our Christmas Card. We will get Boston pictures up when we get them.

Happy Holidays

Resting For Tomorrow

Mom is letting me nap before our big day tomorrow at the Boston Dog Show. Last night I did sleep all night and did not wake mom. I have been having a blast playing in the snow. Today we are going over to Grandma and Grandpa's so mom can clean off the car and I am going to play in the yard with Uncle Brodie and Aunt AElz. I got a bath yesterday which I was not happy about. Now I have to get my nails clipped YUCK. Uncle Nate and Aunt Sandy are in Denver, Colorado until the 16th. They have my cousins Caesar and Nani with them.

Dave, the insurance man, just came over and woke me up. I was not happy about it. Now I have to go out and do my business and then mom has to go and take out Dr. More's dogs. Then we are going to my grandparents.

We will let everyone know how we do on Monday. Cross your fingers and paws for us this weekend. We are going in at 2pm on Saturday and 8AM on Sunday. So on Saturday we are leaving at 10am and on Sunday 5AM. Hope everyone has a good weekend and we will be posting on Monday.

Getting everything ready for our adventure to the Boston Dog Show. Mom will be giving me a bath and I HATE BATHS and getting my nails done. I do the Shiba Scream every time. Our box is ready and mom has her clothes ready. Now we have to go out and practice with the lead. We are competing at 2pm on December 8th and at 8am on December 9th. Looks like we will be leaving VERY early on Sunday morning to get there.

You can tell by the pictures how big I am getting the one with me fitting in the bed is when mom first got me and the other one was taken yesterday (11/28/07). Boy I am getting bigger.

Well mom has to run and take out a couple of dogs and take me out for our practice time. We hope everyone is having a good Holiday. Oh the wood cutting party at my grandparents was very good. They have enough to get past the winter.

Mom will let everyone know how we do in Boston on Monday the 10th.

Fall Is Here

I love this weather. I have no problem sleeping at night even during the day I love my naps. Mom has been busy. Last weekend she took the Amateur Radio course and passed on the second try at the test. She passed and now has her Ham radio licence. Mom needs to go on line and get her call sign.

Mom is getting ready for a conference in Australia next October and then seeing my Uncle Willie and Aunt Donna. I get to stay with grandma and grandpa Hutchins, Uncle Brodie and Aunt AElz. Plus she is going to Gettysburg in July and a Civil War Ball in March. Looks like I get to spend a lot of time with Grandma and Grandpa. Plus we are going to shows. On December 1st we are going to Fitchburg, MA. to compete in puppy. My full AKC name now is: "Nozomi's Q T Pi".

We are off to Concord to do some work and then take care of Alpacas and Llamas and the sheep. This weekend we are going to Currier Rd. to cut wood and maybe go up north to the camp to clean it out. Hope everyone is having a good day.

Pray for California

Every time mom turns on the car the news is the California fires. Mom has a friend in Utah who is a fire fighter and paramedic. We hope she is doing OK and not in California.

This past weekend I got to see my sister Zen, Great Grandpa Bota, Aunt Moxie, Sarah, Eunice and Mark. They were at the Deerfield CPE Trials. We got to watch Dad and Grandma Buttercup run. Grandma Hutchins ran Aunt AElz. Everyone did good. Now it is time for mom to get going and signing us up for competing and obedience training. Eunice said I look good but need to get rid of the black nose and grow another inch. We will see what the judge says on December 1, 2007 in Fitchburg, MA. Now that the fair is over and no reenactments until March so mom can work with me. By next year we are hoping to go to the Shiba Nationals for breed showing in New York and the Shiba National Competition in Penn. Keep fingers crossed.

This Saturday mom is going to take a course on Amateur Radio, "HAM radio". Her course starts at 8:30am until 6pm and then the test for her licence is from 6 to 7. Right now she is studying so that means Cuffy, Trixie and I have to be good and quite. Speaking of studying mom has to get back to it and Me I get to go to sleep. Lucky me. Today is rainy and cloudy and the perfect day to sleep and do nothing.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

Sad Week in Alpaca Land

My mom just found out the baby Alpaca "Tobias" in Raymond has unfortunately died of the EEE. Mom was the first one to meet him when he was born back in July. Mom was watching the farm while they were in Gettysburg at a reenactment. As you can tell by the picture he was a cutie. That picture is the first one of him when he was only about hour old.

My winter coat is coming in and it is itchy. Mom is going to be giving me a bath this afternoon after she gives an English Springer Spaniel a hair cut and bath. The English Springer belongs to Mr. Tomilson. I hope everyone remembers their ear plugs. I have been told I have a good set of lungs.

I hope everyone is having a better day then me and my mom. Everyone PLEASE use bug spray and cover up and keep a close watch on your pets. Thanks.

Rain has Arrived

We are finally getting much needed rain. But I do not like it when mom puts me outside in the down pour. I DO NOT like getting wet. When I have to have a bath I let everyone know I am not happy. I scream at the top of my lungs, even when I get my nails down I let everyone know I am not happy.

Looks like I have to go out in the rain again. YUCK. But I get to go and meet some friends in Manchester. Yesterday I got to meet a new friend in Nottingham. Her name is Ginger and she is a beautiful girl that is a Black, White and Tan Shiba Inu. She was out walking with her grandma. Her parents are moving to Nottingham or Northwood. We stopped and talked to them a little and walked to the bridge. I had fun.

Hope everyone is having a good day. Mom and I have to go now.

Fair is over

Mom finally got me last night from my grandparents. She said the fair was good but on Thursday their building was a sauna because it was so hot and humid. Mom got to see a lot of people she knows and bought grandma and grandpa sweatshirts and fruit jelly slices. For me I got a marrow filled bone and I am enjoying that. Now that the fair is over we are off to more shows and this weekend mom is going to Winchendon, MA to a reenactment just for the day on Saturday.

We looked on the National Shiba Club site and my family did GREAT at the companion events in PA. My sister Zen was the youngest and she did great in Rally Novice A. Zen took first and her two uncles took second and third. So mom said we are going to be working on Rally and Breed.

Got to go now and take out some dogs. Have a great week everyone.

DEERFIELD FAIR IS HERE

Well I am off to Grandma and Grandpa's from Wednesday to Monday. Mom is working at the fair so I won't get much attention so I am going to BerryBrow Hotel for the weekend. Right now things are all over because of getting stuff together and setting up their booth. I got to go on Sunday and watched Mom and Charlie put the booth together and the shelves up. I got to lay there and watch.

Then after the fair back to getting shows set up and registered for. I love going and meeting other Shibas and other dogs and people. Mom is going to register us for the Canine Good Citizen test. My sister Zen, who lives in Candia on Merril Rd. with Sarah her mom, is a CGC so I am next.

Well we are off to take care of Dr. More's dogs and then other dogs and Alpacas. Then mom has to drop her stuff off at the fair. Mom is entering a dress she made, a photo of an Alpaca baby and a photo of the seacoast. In the 4H building mom is putting in 3 photos of me and her Civil War dress and undergarmets.

FUTURE CHAMPION

We had a great day on Friday at our first show. At 8:30am we went into Puppy 6 to 9 month old. We took first and then we had to go in for winners and we went against the Veteran. We took Reserve Winners. Then we had to wait until 3pm for the puppy group. We went in and did good. I did not like it went the judge checked my mouth. But I was a good boy. When we gaited mom was too fast. Then we had to line up and the judge looked at us and he pointed to first, second, third and forth. Well when he pointed to third it was US. Yup we got 3rd in Puppy group for Non Sporting Puppy out of 6. Mom was so EXCITED she had tears in her eyes and her mouth dropped open.

Grandma took photos and mom has the one with the judge and our 3rd place ribbon up top. YES that is mom in a skirt. Now we are looking for more shows to enter.

3 DAYS AWAY

Mom has our tack box packed and paper work ready and she has also packed her box. We are getting ready for our first dog show. We found out there are 7 Shiba Inus competing and only 2 male pups.

On the front of Country Animal Tender still expecting an Alpaca baby that was due last Friday. They are funny animals. They only give birth as long as it is not raining. If they do not have their baby before 1pm then it is called wait until the next day. Some of them that have had babies before they usually have their baby by 10am so that means that Victoria will have her baby by 10am.

Here in Down town Deerfield we are getting lite drizzle and it is damp. This was the kind of day I first met my mom. I was cold but she let me snuggle in her coat and be nice a warm. We are going to have Grandma take a picture of us this weekend.

First Adventure Coming

Well this weekend I was going to Newport, RI but things got to busy here. Pi and I have started to take Handing classes as a refresher. See we have entered into the Cranberry Cluster in Falmouth, MA on September 14th. We are only going for 1 day since this is our first of many to go. We are entered into the Puppy 6 to 9 month old dog (BOYS). Pi is handling it great getting ready but mom (ME) is a little nervous since I have not been in a show ring since December 2004 with Brodie in Boston Dog Show. But it is like riding a bike you never forget the patterns and standing your dog. Grandma and a friend of ours Susan are going to come and be our cheering section.

Then 2 weeks after that is Deerfield Fair so Pi will be staying at Grandma and Grandpa's while mom works at the fair. Deerfield Fair is September 27 to the 30, I will be in Consession Building #3 by the fire station.

Off and Running

I decided to setup a blog to keep family and friends up to date on our adventures. I (Jenny) am getting into going to Civil War reenactments with two of my pet sitting clients, Fran the Alpaca lady and Lorrie who owns Folsom Farm alpacas in Raymond and Brad, Fran's boyfriend. I have been to Woodbury, CT a couple of weekends ago and September 8 & 9 we are going to Newport, RI to Fort Adams. Pi gets to stay at Grandma and Grandpa Hutchins while "Mom" is off with Fran, Brad and Lorrie. It is a blast to dress like they did in 1862. When we are there there are NO CELL PHONES AND NO PAGERS. AND NO CAMERAS, but we can have them out before the spectators arrive. I will try to get pictures at Fort Adams.

When Pi and I start obedience, Rally and Agility I will keep everyone up to date. For now you all get Civil War news. Also I will put up what is happening with Country Animal Tender. The weekend we go to Fort Adams at the Alpaca farm there is a baby expected. So far there have been 3 babies born there. 2 boys and 1 girl. 2 more this year.
